You might have noticed a few changes around here, if you haven't been to visit for a while! As you can see, I've renamed the blog MJ Valentine- this is my writers pseudonym for all my blog posts, articles and other works that I have been sending to publishers. Do you like it? I think it screams personality- 'MJ' comes from my actual name (Madeleine Jane) and 'Valentine' suggests all the things that I value, and try to channel in my life every day: love, happiness, glitter, loyalty, spontaneity, champagne, kisses, gratitude... the list goes on! Fabulous, no?

Yes, it's that time of the week again...! I do apologise for not posting a Things I Love Thursday entry last week- pardon me- it will not happen again! As always, the original idea for TILT came from Gala Darling, but it's just too good not to share...

It's been a pretty full on week for me, with lots of job applications, writing, networking, organising, dreaming and to-do lists... as far as I know, it's been a pretty full on week for quite a few people actually!

Now, I have a sick and twisted confession to make. I am still absolutely and totally besotted with Pinterest. Honestly, I think I have a problem. I was awake until two thirty this morning sourcing pins for up-coming blog entries and all manner of other projects. Madness!

 

If you are not yet registered and pinning away like a lunatic, GET ON BOARD! I promise, you won't regret it! There are hundreds of thousands of recipies, DIY projects, tips and tricks, skin care and makeup information, inspirational quotes for loving, learning and working out, amazing images of travel destinations all over the world, cute puppies... I swear, it's some type of hive of perpetual estrogen, a place for women (and men) to scour the net for all sorts of amazing tidbits that help contribute to a better life... it's amazing. If that's not enough to convince you, here are the covers of my six favourite public boards...

 

 

 

 

It's like looking at a splash of your personality, right on screen! I just love it, and there are so many ways to use it!

Things I Love Thursday!

G'day, gorgeous!

How are you this fine Thursday? You know the drill- Thursday is a day to celebrate all the things that made us smile this week! As always, a quick disclaimer: the orgininal TILT movement was created by Gala Darling, but we're joining the party because hey, a little weekly gratitude never hurt anyone!

Right at the top of my TILT is THIS SKIRT!!!

 

... as you can see, I had a tiny accident this morning. A tiny accident involving pleated purple lurex. I apologise to no one! I <3 Vintage! Especially sparkly vintage! And because insane bright purple pleated lurex wasn't enough (haha) I decided to team it up with a white lace tshirt and some giant glittery jewellery. Stupendous white lace platforms will also do the trick (though I may swap for gold sandals if I wind up leaving the house today!). I feel like this might be a good outfit for eating lychee and violet sorbet...?

Things I Love Thursday!!!

Yes, yes, ladies and gentlemen, it's that time of the week already... a day to celebrate all the things that made you smile this week! The original idea was launched by the effervescent Gala Darling, my all time favourite female blogging superstar, and it's had such a positive impact on my life that I want to share it with everyone, too!

So: what are you grateful for? What gave you butterflies? What made you want to sing with joy and dance like a maniac?! I had a dream last night that giant parrots were nesting in a hot pink chandelier that I'd hung from my bedroom ceiling. Can we make this happen?

Now, I mentioned 'planning and prioritising' in my TILT list this week. I've realised that I need to take a more active role in planning the content for this blog. I know I don't have many readers and I know that my blog does not have great reach (yet). But I have big hopes and dreams for the Mess, so I really want to start filtering content and constructing each post to have clear and significant purpose. There are so many things that I want to write about that sometimes it's hard to deconstruct my thoughts and categorise them. But, never fear, gorgeous reader: I will get there in the end!

This whole project is about creating new purpose in our lives. It is a hot pink documentation of me coming into my own. It's a record of the things that make my life beautiful, and a working journal of the areas in which I need to improve. My dream is that one day, we can all share in this together, united under a common purpose: We are all worthy. We are all unique. And all our own, worthy, unique Messes are fucking Beautiful.

I'm off to make a coffee. Let's get started!
